Florida Career Development Association (FCDA)
We are a leading professional organization for career development practitioners and other various professionals in the career development/services sector. Our goal is to connect and collaborate on issues, policies and practices relating to career development. 

We strive to offer a welcoming, inclusive, professional home for advisors, consultants, coaches, counselors, educators, workforce development, talent development specialists, and resume writers across the state of Florida. 

We are a state division of the National Career Development Association (NCDA), which is a division of the American Counseling Association (ACA). We are a division of the Florida Counseling Association (FCA), which in turn is a state branch of ACA. We are subject to those provisions of NCDA and FCA that apply to their divisions.

To promote an understanding of the career development process and the resulting linkage that provides the individual with a productive and satisfying life.

Our Vision

To sustain a supportive and inclusive environment for all members to feel valued, appreciated, and connected within a larger group of career professionals making a difference in the lives of many.

FCDA Annual In-Person Summit Florida Technical College 12900 Challenger Parkway, Orlando 32826 Saturday, March 2, 2024 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time The FCDA Summit provides a unique platform for professionals and students in the career counseling field to exchange ideas, share insights, and engage in meaningful discussions on the latest trends and developments in career development.  We believe that your active participation will contribute significantly to the success of this event. Our Keynote Speaker will be Carolyn Jones, M.Ed., CMCS, CCSP  NCDA President Our Presentations will include the following: Innovative Career Counseling Approaches: Presentations on novel counseling techniques, assessments, and strategies that empower individuals in their career journeys. Education and Workforce Trends: Discussions on the evolving landscape of education and workforce development, including emerging skills, industry trends, and the future of work. Technology in Career Services: Explorations into the integration of technology, virtual platforms, and data analytics to enhance career services delivery and accessibility. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Careers: Insights into promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace, with a focus on fostering equal opportunities for career opportunities and advancement. Remote Work and Virtual Career Development: Strategies for navigating the challenges and opportunities presented by remote work, including virtual career fairs, networking events, and coaching. Career Challenges and the Influence on Mental Health: Discussing issues and challenges within the workforce that can influence well-being and varying dynamics of wellness. Professional Development for Career Practitioners: Workshops and discussions on advancing the skills and knowledge of career practitioners to better serve their clients in a rapidly changing job market. Career Pathways in Emerging Industries: Exploration of careers in emerging industries, such as sustainability, technology, healthcare, and others, and strategies for preparing individuals for these evolving fields.

We are seeking approval for continuing education credits for the Florida Board of CSW/MFT/MHC and NBCC.

REGISTRATION FEES

Registration Fees are as follows until February 16, 2024.  After that date, all registration fees will be an additional $5.00 until February 29.  We are also offering "at the door" registrations for an additional fee per registration type.

FCA/FCDA Member:  $45

FCA/FCDA Student/Retired Members:  $40

Non-FCA Member Registrant:  $85

Non-FCA Member Student/Retired Registrant:  $60
